New Life For a "Deathmobile" by The Pink Rose Of Texas

New Life For a "Deathmobile"

The Pink Rose Of Texas

1966 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham with Superior hearse package
Part of my model car collection
I admit it took me about a month to build this old kit for several reasons:

  • Obviously it was an old kit, so I had to be careful with the construction
  • I had to order some aftermarket pedals because the one in the kit was broken
  • I also had to come up with the right shade of purple to offset the reddish-brown roof and interior
  • Finally, I had to scratchbuild the bed and ceiling-mounted TV...and look who I put on the screen: horror movie host Svengoolie!

(Okay, so I'm not really a Svengoolie fan...but I figured what the heck?)

Anyway, I figured it'd make an unusual and cool vehicle for going to the beach and surfing, or just "making out in the back"...and this world could use more of the "unusual"!
Hope you like it!

Beautiful hearse, excellent job on building the model. Classic Jo-Han Heavenly Hearse kit, brings back memories.

Thank you very much! I miss building those old Jo-Han kits. I wish that company was still around.
