Bittersweet Emotions by HWB

Dear Weasyl Community,

This week has been a blend of bittersweet emotions. On Saturday, I finished the last advanced animation class from New York School of Visual Arts. Through the extended education program, I was able to learn a lot and make significant progress in my abilities. In particular, I learned a lot about pantomime -- that someone should be able to understand the story even when the sound is muted. However, I still need to work on character design. My sketches are still a bit too stiff. This, I believe will come with more practice. In fact, that's the bitter part all of this. From here, my potential is only limited by my commitment to practice. It is both a very limiting and liberating feeling.

My internship at P1 Games seems to be chugging along just fine. With the extension of the deadline given for the 29th of April for the first game, it seems our team will make a smooth and safe landing. In that realm, I am learning a lot about blender as well as how to operate in a team. It has been very exciting, though a bit overwhelming too.

Of course, I am still looking for a paying job. I can't say I've 'made it' in the USA unless I have the three pieces in check: something to learn, something to do, and somewhere to live. Of course, one could argue that I should put 'someone to love' on that list too. However, with all the friends I have on Ferzu, I am certainly in abundance.

Stay blessed.

Sincerely,

-H.W.B.
